What to Wear to Your Photo Session

You booked your session — yay! Now comes the big question: “What should we wear?”
Outfits can totally change the vibe of your photos, and I’m here to help you feel confident and camera-ready without the stress.

Here’s my go-to guide for styling your next session (and looking amazing without trying too hard).

1. Neutrals > Neon

Neutral tones like cream, taupe, sand, olive, and rust photograph beautifully in natural light. They don’t compete with the background and keep the focus on you.

Avoid: Bright neon, small stripes, and overly busy prints.

👖 2. Dress for the Location

Where we shoot totally influences what looks best.

  • Desert or beach? Flowy dresses, bare feet, and linen shirts.

  • Downtown or urban? Elevated neutrals with boots or statement jackets.

  • Forest or garden? Earthy tones, cozy textures, and muted florals.

💞 3. Coordinate, Don’t Match

Gone are the days of everyone wearing the same color shirt.
Try mixing complementary tones (think cream + sage + tan) for a naturally styled look.

Idea: One person wears a soft neutral pattern, the other sticks to solids that pull a color from that pattern.

🧺 4. Bring Options

If we have time (and a spot to change), feel free to bring a second outfit! One casual, one dressy. It gives your gallery variety and lets your personalities shine.

🧢 5. Don’t Forget the Little Things

  • Iron or steam your clothes the night before

  • Avoid logos or graphics

  • Empty your pockets before the shoot

  • Clean nails + subtle jewelry go a long way

🌅 Final Tip: Be Yourself

The best outfit is one that makes you feel like you. Confidence looks good on everyone. If you're unsure, send me your picks and I’ll help style you!
